University of Zagreb (UNIZG)

The University of Zagreb (UNIZG) (founded in 1669) is the oldest and largest university in Southeast Europe. As a comprehensive Central European public university, the University of Zagreb offers education and research in all scientific fields (arts, biomedical, biotechnology, engineering, humanities, natural sciences and social sciences) and a wide range of courses at all levels of study, from undergraduate to postgraduate. With 30 Faculties and 3 Arts Academies, it is the country's flagship educational institution and a place where more than 7900 teachers and 72480 students develop knowledge and acquire skills. The University excels not only in teaching but also in research, contributing more than 50% of the annual research output in Croatia and 80% of the scientific productivity of all Croatian universities. The central strategic issue of the future development of the University of Zagreb is that it is a research-oriented institution with high quality teaching. Accordingly, the focus will be on master's and doctoral programmes covering all fields of science and arts, promoting inter- and transdisciplinarity and translational research, nurturing a culture of innovation and knowledge transfer. This should result in better cross-sectoral harmonisation at local and regional levels. The University of Zagreb, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences (UNIZG FTTS) was established in 1984 as an independent scientific, teaching and research institution. UNIZG FTTS has 190 employees, of which 120 are scientific researchers, 30 researchers and 40 technical staff. UNIZG FTTS has four locations:

Vukelićeva 4 (administrative and lecture rooms), Campus Borongaj (researcher, lecture rooms and laboratories), Kušlanova 2 (laboratory and lecture rooms) and Airport Lučko (hangar, lecture rooms, flight simulators and maintenance facility). Overall, we have 21 laboratories covering almost all research in the field of transport and traffic sciences. At the moment,

UNIZG FTTS is a leading scientific and research institution in Croatia, covering about 80% of the entire country research output

and is the leading institution for training in the field of transport and traffic sciences. UNIZG FTTS has expertise in the field of transport and maintenance, which includes knowledge on passenger transport, cargo transport, transport technology and transport management. Furthermore, the current study programme Transport covers important strategic objectives such as:

modal shift, green transport, intermodal transport, integrated passenger transport systems. We cover all three cycles of the Bologna process: bachelor, master and doctoral education.

Our employees not only share a passion for technology, but also their deep professional experience. Our editorial team consists of engineers and technicians who can rely on vast experience in the fields of technical documentation and maintenance of rail vehicles. Our certified technical editors and specialists in graphic design and information technology complete the profile of our company. We encourage personal contact and therefore maintain a constant dialogue among ourselves and with our customers. In doing so, we attach great importance to a friendly and direct communication. We see ourselves as experts in our speciality: rail transport technology. This is where we offer high-quality services. We do not offer any standardised products of the same type or duplicated services. For us, quality is measured by the satisfaction of our various customers. Focusing on the customer and the project is the basis for a successful outcome. A ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach is not our tool of choice. We listen, follow and think ahead, making your questions and problems our own. We offer a wide range of experience and competences. This enables us to respond precisely to the special requirements of different customers.
